WRITING CRITERIA for HUM 1210
The
following are the essentials for writing
in this class. Please refer to this when
writing any of the assignments. Writing is the best way to assess the
subjective quality of the material.
Along with quizzes you will be writing papers.
Each paper will address a very specific
subject.

Margins
– 1” top and bottom/left and right
side

Font
size 12
c.
Write
in the objective – this is to write in the third person – no “I”
anything. The only appropriate place to
use “I” is in subjective
responses.

Double
space
e.
Everything
that is submitted must be typed
f.
Papers
must be grammatically correct and
well presented. Grammatical, spelling
and typographical errors reflect poorly on the writer.
Papers submitted with a plethora of errors
will be evaluated accordingly.
g.
Always italicize
titles. This
includes
works of art, music titles,
film titles, and plays.
h.
Do
not use ALL CAPS when typing.

Make
a hard copy to keep for the term – just
in case

The
All labels should be single-spaced. The rest of the paper should be double-spaced. (You are only responsible for what is on the label. If it is not there, don’t include it.)
