Grading Policy |
Grading
Methods and Criteria: There will be five exams. All exams will be multiple-choice. Exams
1-4 will consist of 75 questions. The final exam will have 50 questions. You
receive 1 point for each correct answer. Your grade will depend on your test
scores using a straight grading format. ______________________________________________________________________________________ Testing Contents:
Exam I
Chapters 1-3 Exam
II Chapters 4-6 Exam III
Chapters 7-9 Exam
IV Chapters 10-12 Final
V Chapters 13-14
No makeup exams will be given. If you cannot take the exam you
are required to submit a written statement indicating that the absence was
beyond your control. With a written, valid
excuse, you will receive an average raw score from the other four exams. If
the absence is unexcused, you will receive a "zero" on that exam. You cannot receive course credit
if you miss the final exam or more than one of the other four exams. Final Grades are based
upon the following point scale:
Tests = 350 points Assignment(s) = 25 points
Attendance = 25 points Total points = 400 |
|||||||
|
Attendance |
Attendance: Attendance will be taken at the beginning of each class period
throughout the semester. Once the door is closed you will not receive credit
for attendance (this means you are late). Lateness will not be tolerated.
I will arbitrarily pick 25 days to count as one point that will be added to
your cumulative point total. You are expected to attend all scheduled classes
and stay until you are excused. If you
miss two consecutive classes, I expect to hear from you via email or phone. |
|||||||
|
Help |
If at any time during the semester help is needed, please contact the instructor. DO NOT wait until near the end of the semester to ask for help. It will probably be too late. Students who may need extra lab time to complete assignments must make arrangements with the instructor. |

use of 3x5 cards can help. (These cards can be bought in the bookstore.) Put
the name of the concept or person on one side of the card and the important
characteristics on the other. To help you study, you are encouraged to form study groups with other students in this class. You can meet with them periodically to compare notes and study for exams.
