Strategies for Successful Writing (7th Ed.)
Keys for Writers (4th Ed.)

What Is This Class About? Students will take a “problem-solving” approach to essays, using various modes of writing, such as narrative, descriptive, illustrative, argumentative and cause-and-effect, as potential solutions to essay assignments. In this course we will discuss how to write papers in the MLA format required by most colleges and universities.
How Will I Be Graded?

Students will be graded in four key areas… including thesis (25%), content (25%), MLA format (25%), and grammar (25%).

How To Succeed...

My philosophy is simple… do the work and get a good grade. Grades are based on a 1,000-point scale. Students will know which assignments count for points from the Course Outline.

I also encourage students to ask questions as they arise. Don’t wait until it’s too late to find out how to make the grade in the class.
