Extra Credit

Presentation (3-5 minutes) on latest health claims, diets, supplements, juices, etc. Chose one claim/product and research it, at the end of the presentation give your opinion on whether you agree with the claim/product. Each presentation is worth up to 15pts (10pts for presenting and an additional 5pts for stimulating a group discussion). Each student is allowed to do up to 3 presentations.

Examination Policy

Only under extenuating circumstances will a make-up exam be given.  Please make every effort to take the exam the day it is scheduled.

Cheating/Plagiarism

Cheating is simply not tolerated!!! If caught cheating, the result may be a zero for that assignment and possible dismissal from class.

Late Assignments

Due dates are enforced!  No late work accepted.  If it is late, it will be a zero.  Quizzes must be turned in on or before the new chapter lecture begins, or they will be considered late.

Attendance

Attendance is mandatory.  More than 5 unexcused absences will result in a 10pt reduction of the final grade at the end of the semester.

Classroom Manners

* Tardiness is rude, please make an effort to arrive to class on time, so that you do not disturb those who were here on time and are trying to pay attention and learn.

* Turn all cell phones to SILENT (not VIBRATE) when entering the classroom.

* Please do not get up and leave during a lecture, unless it is an emergency; it not only distracts others around you, but the speaker in the front of the room as well!

* Raise your hand or signal me if you have something to say, please do not blurt out your comments and interrupt.

In Conclusion

Evaluate you schedule to assure you have allowed enough time to grasp and understand the core topics of this course.  If so, then I presume you all will not only pass, but leave this semester with a confident feeling that you learned something.  Good luck…I look forward to a great term.
