Course Policies

Absences:

Because absence from class will prevent a student from getting the full benefit of a course, and because in many courses each student's involvement contributes to the process for all other students in a class, attendance is mandatory for every exercise of a course in which a student is registered. Excessive absences will result in a lower grade. If an emergency arises you must leave me a voice mail prior to class.

Expected Classroom Behavior

A student's behavior at the College must comport with educational processes and should not disrupt teaching, learning, or the orderly conduct of business. Any misconduct that interferes with the education mission of the College is a serious offense for which the student will be subject to disciplinary action by his/her teacher and or other College personnel. No person shall conduct themselves in such a way as to deprive others of an orderly atmosphere for study.

IMPORTANT NOTE: It is important that everyone feels free to express their opinions, experiences, and thoughts as well as listening to others in a cooperative classroom setting. This is essential to the process of learning.

THIS IS A COLLEGE CLASSROOM STUDENT NOTE:
  • Students who are late for class, students who leave before class and or those who leave and re-enter – your final grade will be lowered.
  • All cell phones must be turned off.
  • Students who check messages on phone in class will be asked to leave.  Remember, the classroom is an environment for the process of learning to take place.  You must devote your complete attention to this task.
  • Multi-tasking is prohibited.
  • Attendance is mandatory for classroom presentations - your overall grade will be lowered each day of absence.
